Just Keep Climbing

Hello all climbing team members, coaches and friends, my name is Kyli McKay-Bishop, and I am the new team manager!  I have already met some of you at City Of Rocks trip and I am looking forward to meeting the rest of you. The main reason The Quarry hired me is to maintain the blog and post new information on a weekly basis. The plan is to have something new each Monday. I will also help plan the outdoor trips, keep track of documents, and help the coaches with the behind the scenes stuff so they can focus on coaching you.

The vision for the blog is to pick a topic to explore each month. Some of the topics I have come up with are climbing destinations, mental training, nutrition, goal setting, and gear reviews. If there are any topics you want to see on the blog or any you don’t want to see, let me know by commenting below! I want to hear everyone’s ideas for the blog so that it best serves you. Before we delve into any of the above-mentioned topics we have some catch up to do as far as pictures go! I plan on getting most of the pictures up from the past months before the end of August.  Then in September, as most of us head back to school we will focus on the brain and dive into mental training and how training your brain can advance your climbing! I hope you will join me as we try and take the blog to another level!

Thanks for commenting climbingamerica. I couldn't agree more technique is essential to becoming a strong climber. Most, if not all of the technique the kids learn will come from the coaches in practice. However, I will be happy to cover climbing technique here as well.
